Extra cash for BSF

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

A further £1bn of funding has been released by the government for a number of new Building Schools for the Future (BSF) schemes.

Twelve councils will advertise BSF projects for the first time next year including Brent, Darlington, Devon, Havering, Kingston & Croydon, Norfolk, Plymouth, Sefton, Wakefield and Warrington.

Lancashire and Tameside will move on to fresh waves of their existing schemes under the £55bn government programme.

The authorities were chosen from 20 by a selection process that tested their readiness to deliver projects and now brings the total of local authorities involved in the programme up to 96.
