Glasgow 2014 logo not miles better

Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has unveiled its corporate identity for the games and flown into a storm of criticism.
The £95,000 logo – four coloured circles representing the different dimensions of the games – has been described as old-fashioned and boring.
One comment compared the Glasgow design to the controversial London Olympics logo: "it makes the London Olympics logo look like a work of genius" and another described it as "missed opportunity".
But Glasgow 2014 Chief Executive John Scott described it as "a classic piece of graphic design.
"I think it will last the test of time and serve us well as we launch our commercial programme."
The logo is expected to help generate about £80m, serving as a key part of the Games' branding and attracting sponsorship.
