Soca plans huge IT transformation
09 December 2008
The Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) has published a tender revealing it will spend up to £500m transforming its management information systems.
In its 2010 Programme, the agency said it is willing to spend between £300m-500m on the upgrade, which will move it away from its legacy systems that were lacking integration. Soca is hoping to award the contract in the middle of 2010, with the new service ready in early 2011.
Analysts have said a consortium of IT partners is expected to take on the contract, due to its size and expected complexity.
