CAREER VACANCIES
PSCA International
is one of the fastest growing publishing companies and, due to our
unrivalled success, we are looking to expand and to recruit individuals
across the whole business group.
Editorial Vacancies: PUBLIC SERVANT SCOTLAND SEEKS A LAUNCH EDITOR AND REPORTER PSCA International is preparing to launch Public Servant Scotland, an extension of the outstanding Public Servant magazine brand. The new magazine is destined to become a must-read for Scotland’s public sector leaders – politicians, officers and associates – as new policies and services emerge to meet Scotland’s raised expectations. Based in Edinburgh, Public Servant Scotland will be a challenging, intelligent and original monthly publication, backed by the comprehensive www.publicservice.co.uk website. The magazine will provide the discerning public service and sector leaders with off-diary stories, selective coverage of the most significant main news, thought leadership, profiles of those who innovate and set the agenda, and analysis that draws on political influences and fresh perspectives on issues that matter most to those who work in and with the sector. It will be genuinely pan-public sector in outlook, pursuing the development of ideas on policy, management and leadership through to the delivery of frontline services. The magazine will not simply be a forum for the politician – public servants working at the heart of the community, as well as notable academics and commentators, will be a vital part of the mix. If you have been reading the original Public Servant magazine over the last year you will have seen many agenda-setting stories and exclusive interviews, notably with Whitehall Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O’Donnell, General Sir Mike Jackson, Ruth Kelly, David Cameron, Ken Livingstone, Nick Clegg, Sir Michael Lyons and many other leaders of local and central government, agencies and global business. It is an influential publication that is read by the big decision-makers and plays a key role in communicating with government across traditional boundaries. The new magazine for Scotland will be equally ambitious. The launch editor of Public Servant Scotland will be an outstanding journalist: as a writer and commentator on the wide-ranging issues facing the public sector; with experience and vision to create content that will be the most relevant and most read in the marketplace; with skills to organise and expand Public Servant’s reach and reputation throughout Scotland’s public sector. Public Servant Scotland seeks a staff reporter – also to be based at the new Edinburgh office - who is trained, versatile and passionate about politics and public service. He or she will provide news, features and interviews, and be part of a publication that will make an impact in Scotland. Public Servant Scotland will be also be backed by managing editor and founding editor of Public Servant magazine David Allaby and his team. To apply for one of the above positions, please contact David Allaby at editor@publicservant.co.uk or write to him at Ebenezer House, Ryecroft, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs ST5 2UB with CV, three samples of work and a covering letter.
